Love Juice? Then Head to Love Juice

I love afternoon tea. There, I said it. In fact, it's not just afternoon, there's brunch too... and supper - in fact any meal that is not really a meal but is at the times of day when one should be at work and therefore eating cake, and generally being decadent, feels all kinds of sinfully wonderful. One of my favourite people to while away an afternoon with is undoubtedly my mother but since she has been juicing (see previous post for more details) finding places to gain appropriate sustenance has proven tricky. Enter, Love Juice.
Located on Beech Road in Chorlton, Love Juice, previously known as On The Corner, received a remodel last year and is looking rather perky and fabulous for it too. The menu has also received a revamp now involving a far more extensive selection of juices and smoothies whilst also still offering a bounty of fresh salads, hearty meals and gorgeous cakes.

As Mum was on the juice we decided to stick to mainly fluids. Mum ordered the Storm in a Teacup - freshly pressed apple and ginger warmed up and served in a big teacup - and I went for an almond milk latte (they also offer soya milk, hemp milk and coconut milk so whatever your alternative milk preference, they've got you covered).

Next, we shared some protein bliss balls. These had come straight from the fridge and so were chewy, fudgey and, quite frankly, the best protein balls I have ever eaten! I will definitely be trying to replicate these at home. I can't remember the exact ingredients but I do remember that they contained walnuts, dates, maca, hemp and coconut.

Nom, nom, nom. Chew, chew, chew... coffee.

Whilst munching on our protein balls our juices arrived. We both ordered the Kryptonite which might be scary to look at but, honestly, it was truly divine! Including a blend of hemp milk, dates, spirulina and honey - it was creamy, delicately sweet and a great mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

After Love Juice we crossed the road and had a nosey in one of our favourite little galleries where all of the artwork is made using recycled media.

If you wander all the way to the back of the gallery there is a beautiful garden, again, all constructed from reclaimed and recycled material, including what looks like a cascading pool of water that turns out to be shards of frosted, white glass.

My favourite days are always those with unplanned, spontaneous mooching and the rediscovery of old, treasured haunts.

Love Juice now offer their own juice cleanses where all the juices can be purchased in bottles from the cafe and  consumed in the comfort of your own home, for more details visit their Facebook page here.
