Is This the Best Brunch in Town?

Last week, the girls & I arranged to meet up for a spot of brunch on one of the rare occasions that we were all free at the same time and I could not think of anywhere better to go than Moose. With an overwhelmingly large selection of all things brunch it is a highly popular spot and it is hardly surprising as to why...

This place is always heaving, even on a weekday (we went on a Thursday) so after queueing for around 20 minutes we all ordered fresh mint tea as soon as we were seated which arrived as fresh as it can come, with actual mint leaves, and a pot of honey on the side to sweeten to taste.

After extensive deliberation over the vast menu, Hayley decided to play it safe with the scrambled eggs on toast. She was the only one of us who ordered something other than pancakes - Moose is notorious for it's American style pancakes and they did not disappoint in the slightest!

I ordered the Double Dutch; two thick, sweet batter pancakes with bacon and sausage baked right in there, topped with two sunny-side up eggs and maple syrup on the side.

Louise got the Granola & Chocolate Peanut Butter pancakes; three sweet pancakes smothered in chocolate peanut butter spread, sprinkled with homemade granola and sweet clementine segments plus maple syrup on the side (as if you would need it).

Becky chose the Blueberry pancakes and ordered a side of extra berries.
I sampled a bite of everyone's choices and am happy to report that absolutely all of them were IN.CRED.IBLE! The pancakes were thick, sweet and, it has to be said, rather overwhelming by the end - not one of us could finish them.
My favourite variety was actually Becky's blueberry pancakes as the blueberries cut through the sweetness of the batter and provided a welcome, refreshing tang.

^^^Look at all that joy and excitement (Becky please don't kill me for putting this picture on here).^^^

As if we could fit in another bite we all decided to squeeze in a round of coffees and I decided to get a hot chocolate with soya milk. The hot chocolate is served as a steaming mug of frothy milk with a spoon covered in a huge chunk of solid, milk chocolate. You then dunk the spoon into the milk and stir as the chocolate melts in (you can also lick off the molten outer layer of chocolate as you go along, like I did).

If you are looking for somewhere with an abundance of brunch options, sweet and savoury varieties, and choices to suit every taste, then Moose should be top of your places to visit this weekend. I could easily go back there every weekend for the next six months and still not get through the whole menu.
On my next visit I think I'll try the waffles... or the red velvet cake... or the burrito? Oh Lord the decisions!

Check out Moose's full menu here.
